Product Description

RadioMaster Zorro CC2500 Radio Transmitters Version CC2500 (Multi-Protocol) Radio Protocol CC2500 (FrSky, Futaba, Hitec, etc.) Style Gamepad

The RadioMaster Zorro changed the game for small radios by including a massive top-mounted LCD screen and full-sized features into a body that fits easily in a small bag. It runs EdgeTX natively, offering a level of customization usually reserved for much larger transmitters.

  • CC2500 Multi-Protocol: This internal module supports a wide range of popular protocols including FrSky (D8/D16), Futaba S-FHSS, Hitec, Graupner, and more. It’s perfect for binding to a variety of "Bind-and-Fly" (BNF) models.

  • Large LCD Screen: Unlike most gamepad radios that have tiny, hard-to-read displays, the Zorro features a 128x64 monochrome LCD right at the top, making it easy to check telemetry or adjust settings without looking down too far.

  • Hall Effect Gimbals: Standard on the Zorro, these gimbals provide smooth, precise control and high durability. They are adjustable from the front, so you can tweak the tension without taking the whole radio apart.

  • External Module Bay: On the back, you’ll find a "Nano" size module bay. If you ever want to upgrade to long-range protocols like Crossfire or ELRS, you can just plug in a Nano module and you’re ready to go.

The Pilot's Reality Check:

  • Battery Choice: The Zorro uses 18350 batteries, not the more common 18650s. These are smaller and have less capacity, so if you plan on long flying sessions, you might want to bring a spare set or use the external 2S battery port provided.

  • The CC2500 Limitation: This version does not include the 4-in-1 chip (it lacks the NRF24L01 and others). It will not bind to protocols like Spektrum (DSM/DSMX) or FlySky. If you need those, look for the 4-in-1 version instead.

  • Ergonomics: It has a very "tall" feel compared to other gamepads like the Tango 2. This is great for people with larger hands who find other small radios cramped, but it might feel slightly top-heavy.

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions
  • What can I actually fly with the CC2500 version?

Unlike the "4-in-1" version, the CC2500 is a single-chip multi-protocol module. It supports a targeted range of protocols, including FrSky (D8, D16 ACCST v1/v2), Futaba S-FHSS, Hitec, Radiolink, and Graupner HoTT. It does not support FlySky or Spektrum DSMX; if you need those, you would need the 4-in-1 or an external module.

  • Why does it use 18350 batteries instead of the standard 18650s?

To keep the radio as small and ergonomic as possible, RadioMaster opted for the shorter 18350 cells. While this makes the handles very comfortable to hold, it does limit the runtime to about 5–6 hours (for the CC2500 version).

  • Can I upgrade it to long-range like Crossfire or ELRS?

Yes! The Zorro features a Nano-sized external module bay on the back. You can easily plug in a TBS Nano Crossfire, Nano Tracer, or an ELRS Nano module. When a module is plugged in, the Zorro acts as a "host," giving you high-end long-range capabilities in a tiny package.

  • How do I charge it, and can I use an external battery?

The Zorro has a built-in USB-C charging port at the bottom for the internal 18350s. If you’re at the field and your batteries run low, it also has a 2S balance plug input on the bottom. You can strap a standard 2S LiPo to the back of the radio and plug it in to keep flying all day.

  • Are the gimbals adjustable?

Yes, they are Hall Effect gimbals, and you can adjust the travel and tension without opening the case. There are small access holes on the front/back that allow you to customize how "stiff" or "loose" the sticks feel to match your flying style.
