The Cetus X FPV Kit is the most powerful "Ready-To-Fly" (RTF) bundle in the Cetus lineup. It features the Cetus X Brushless Whoop, which utilizes two 1S batteries to deliver 2S performance, allowing for both precise indoor proximity and high-speed outdoor flight. The kit includes the VR03 Goggles with built-in DVR for recording your flights and the LiteRadio 3 transmitter, making it a complete ecosystem for pilots ready to master Manual (Acro) mode.

Product Description

The BETAFPV Cetus X FPV Kit is an advanced, all-in-one starter bundle designed to take beginners from their first flight to intermediate freestyle. Unlike the smaller Cetus Pro, the Cetus X uses a 2S (double voltage) power system, giving it the "punch" needed for outdoor flying and more aggressive maneuvers.

  • 2S Power Evolution: By using two BT2.0 450mAh 1S batteries in series, the Cetus X provides significantly more thrust than 1S whoops. This allows the drone to recover quickly from dives and maintain stability in light winds, bridging the gap between tiny whoops and 5-inch freestyle quads.

  • Dual FC Versions:

    • Betaflight Version: Uses the industry-standard firmware. It is "unlocked," allowing you to learn the software used by professional pilots.

    • Cetus FC Version: Includes an optical flow sensor and barometer for "Position Hold" and "Altitude Hold," making it much easier for absolute beginners to hover safely.

  • VR03 FPV Goggles: An upgrade over the older VR02, these goggles feature a high-brightness 4.3-inch screen and a built-in DVR. You can now record your analog FPV feed directly to a MicroSD card to share your progress or help locate your drone after a crash.

  • LiteRadio 3 Transmitter: This gamepad-style radio features a "Nano" module bay on the back, allowing you to upgrade to protocols like ExpressLRS (ELRS) or Crossfire later. It also acts as a USB joystick for FPV simulators on your PC.

  • Turtle Mode Support: If you crash and land upside down, you can use "Turtle Mode" from your radio to flip the drone over and take off again without walking to pick it up.

Technical Specifications:

  • Wheelbase: 95mm

  • Protocol: ExpressLRS (ELRS) 2.4G (Betaflight) / Frsky D8 (Cetus FC)

  • Motors: 1103 11000KV Brushless

  • Propellers: Gemfan 2020 4-Blades

  • Camera: C04 FPV Camera (Adjustable 0°–40°)

  • VTX: M04 25–400mW

  • Goggles Resolution: 800x480px

  • Weight: 55g (Dry) / 81g (with 2x 1S batteries)

The Pilot's Reality Check:

  • Indoor vs. Outdoor: While the Cetus X can be flown indoors, its high power makes it much better suited for large indoor spaces (like gyms) or outdoors. For small apartments, the Cetus Pro or Meteor65 is generally easier to manage.

  • Flight Time: Expect roughly 5 minutes of flight time. Because it uses two batteries per flight, you will go through the included set quickly during a session.

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Is it better than the Cetus Pro?

Yes, in almost every performance category. The Cetus X uses two 1S batteries (2S total), giving it much more "punch" to recover from dives and handle light wind. While the Cetus Pro is strictly for indoors/garages, the Cetus X is a "yard-scale" drone that can handle open spaces.

  • Which version should I get: Cetus FC or Betaflight FC?

    - Cetus FC: Features Position Hold (using a barometer and laser) which allows the drone to auto-hover. Choose this if you are a total beginner who wants a "safety net." - Betaflight FC: Uses the industry-standard firmware. It does not have auto-hover but allows you to learn the exact software and settings used by professional FPV pilots. Recommended for those looking to stay in the hobby long-term.

  • What is the range?

Thanks to the ExpressLRS (ELRS) 2.4G radio link (on the Betaflight version), the control range is excellent (up to 600m in open areas). However, your analog video link will typically begin to show static around 200-300m, which is the practical limit for this type of whoop.

  • Can I record my flights?

Yes. The included VR03 Goggles feature a built-in DVR (Digital Video Recorder). By inserting a microSD card into the goggles, you can record exactly what you see in your headset (480p resolution).

  • Does it have "Turtle Mode"?

Yes. If you crash upside down, you can flip a switch on the radio to reverse the motors and flip the drone back over (Mode Name: Flip Over After Crash), allowing you to take off again without walking to retrieve it.
