The iFlight Afterburner 5 O3 6S HD is a high-performance 5-inch cinematic drone developed in collaboration with 2RAW. Unlike standard freestyle quads, the Afterburner is a specialized tool designed specifically for professional pilots who need a stable, aerodynamic, and high-speed platform for film work.

• Aerodynamic Aeroshell: The unique plastic shell isn't just for looks—it acts as an air divider at high speeds, preventing air from hitting the flat top plate. This significantly reduces drag and protects the internal electronics from moisture and debris.

• Bottom-Mount Battery Design: Inspired by FPV racing drones, the battery is mounted on the bottom. This clears the top of the drone for a GoPro mount and a clear line of sight for the GPS, while keeping the Center of Gravity (CG) centered for better agility.

• Prop-Free GoPro View: The frame geometry is tuned so that a GoPro (set to 16:9) has no propellers in the view from 5° all the way to 60° of camera tilt, ensuring clean cinematic shots regardless of flight speed.

Pilot's Reality Check:

• Not for Bashing: iFlight explicitly states this is not a freestyle drone. The truss arms and Aeroshell are designed for performance and aerodynamics, not for surviving high-speed impacts with concrete.

• Betaflight 4.5 Note: Many units ship with Betaflight 4.5, which may require specific steps to access BLHeli32 settings. However, the factory tune is widely regarded as excellent right out of the box.

• Bottom-Mount Battery: While great for flight physics, bottom-mounted batteries are more exposed during landings. Using a battery skid plate or landing on soft grass is recommended.
