The iFlight Titan XL5 is a high-performance 5-inch freestyle drone designed for maximum stability and durability. Featuring a balanced True-X frame, pre-installed GPS for emergency rescue, and the powerful XING2 motors, it is the perfect platform for pilots who prioritize a "locked-in" flight feel and long-range reliability over pure racing speed.

Product Description

The iFlight Titan XL5 is a classic "True-X" freestyle drone known for its incredible flight stability and heavy-duty build quality. While the newer Nazgul series focuses on speed and agility, the Titan is built for those who want a "smooth" feel and extra space for electronics and larger GPS modules.

  • True-X Geometry for Balance: Unlike "DeadCat" frames that focus on cinematic views, the Titan uses a perfectly symmetrical True-X layout. This provides the most balanced flight characteristics possible, making it easier to tune and giving the drone a very predictable, consistent feel during complex freestyle maneuvers.

  • Integrated GPS Rescue: Safety is a priority with the Titan XL5. The pre-configured GPS module allows for GPS Rescue mode, which can automatically bring the drone back toward the takeoff point and land if the video or radio signal is lost, providing peace of mind for long-range explorations.

  • Superior Durability: The frame features 6mm thick arms and a robust structural design that can handle the high-speed impacts typical of aggressive freestyle. The internal "electronic cage" is spacious, allowing for better cooling and easier access to the flight stack.

  • XING2 Power System: Outfitted with iFlight's legendary XING2 motors, which use high-strength unibell designs and N52H magnets. This ensures the drone has plenty of torque to pull out of high-speed dives and carry heavy action cameras like a full-sized GoPro without sweating.

  • VTX & Camera: DJI O3 / O4 or Analog (depending on version)

  • GPS: Pre-installed GPS module

  • Propellers: Nazgul F5 3-Blade

  • Weight: ~445g (without battery)

  • Battery Connector: XT60

  • Recommended Battery: 6S 1300mAh - 1550mAh

The Pilot's Reality Check:

  • Propellers in View: Because this is a True-X frame and not a DeadCat, you will see the propellers in your FPV feed and HD footage if you use a wide FOV. This is the trade-off for the superior balance and handling of the X-frame.

  • Weight Factor: The Titan is one of the heavier 5-inch frames on the market. It is not as "flicky" as a racing drone, but its mass gives it incredible momentum, which many freestyle pilots prefer for "juicy" flow-style flying.

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Why choose the "True-X" Titan over the "DeadCat" Nazgul?

While the Nazgul (DeadCat) is better for keeping props out of your video, the Titan's True-X geometry provides better weight distribution and more predictable flight physics. If you are focused on high-performance freestyle where you need the drone to flip and roll with absolute symmetry, the Titan is the more "asjalik" tool for the job.

  • Is the GPS pre-configured for "Return to Home"?

Yes, but with a caveat. It comes with GPS Rescue pre-configured in Betaflight, but it is often disabled by default for safety. You will need to enable it in the Betaflight Configurator and set a switch on your remote. It’s designed to bring the drone back toward you and land (or hover) if you lose video or radio signal.

  • How durable are those 6mm arms?

Extremely. Most freestyle drones use 5mm arms, but the Titan uses 6mm thick carbon fiber. This makes it one of the toughest frames on the market. It also includes 360° TPU protection (soft plastic bumpers) on the motor mounts and arm tips, which significantly reduces the chance of delaminating your carbon in a hard concrete crash.

  • Can I fly this on 4S batteries if I bought the 6S version?

Technically yes, but it will feel very underpowered. The 6S version uses XING 2208 1800KV motors optimized for higher voltage. If you use a 4S battery, you’ll find you need to push the throttle to 70% just to hover. It’s always best to match your battery to the KV of your motors (4S for ~2450KV, 6S for ~1800KV).

  • What is the "70% Throttle Limit" I see in the manual?

To help beginners transition to the extreme power of 6S, iFlight often ships these with a scaled throttle limit. This gives you more "resolution" at the bottom of the stick so the drone doesn't rocket into the sky the moment you touch it. You can easily remove this in Betaflight to unlock 100% of the motor's power once you're comfortable.
