The DJI Neo 2 is a 151g micro-drone that bridges the gap between a follow-me camera and a cinewhoop. Upgraded with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor, it captures 4K/60fps video and 4K/100fps slow motion. The addition of forward-facing LiDAR and a monocular vision system allows it to dodge obstacles in all directions, while the new Gesture Control 2.0 lets you command it like a "Jedi" using only hand signals.

Product Description

The DJI Neo 2 Fly More Combo is the late-2025 successor to the original Neo, pushing the "palm-launch" concept into professional territory. While the first Neo was a fun toy, the Neo 2 is a legitimate cinematic tool, featuring a 2-axis mechanical gimbal and omnidirectional obstacle sensing that makes it significantly safer and more capable for both indoor and outdoor use.

  • 2-Axis Mechanical Gimbal: Unlike the original Neo which relied solely on electronic stabilization (EIS), the Neo 2 features a physical 2-axis gimbal (tilt and roll). This results in significantly smoother footage with a natural horizon, even during aggressive maneuvers.

  • 360° Obstacle Avoidance: This is the smallest DJI drone ever to feature omnidirectional sensing. By combining vision sensors with forward LiDAR, it can navigate complex environments (like forests or cluttered rooms) while tracking you at speeds up to 12 m/s (27 mph).

  • Master of Gestures: You can fly the Neo 2 entirely without a controller or phone. High-fives, palm movements, and "beckoning" gestures allow you to change tracking distance, height, and trigger a Return-to-Palm landing from a distance.

  • O4 Transmission & Transceiver: The Neo 2 uses an external Digital Transceiver module (included in the combo) to unlock DJI's O4 transmission system. This gives you up to 10km of range and a rock-solid 1080p/60fps live feed when paired with a remote.

  • Social Media Ready: Beyond standard 4K, it supports native 2.7K vertical shooting (9:16) at 60fps, perfect for instant sharing to TikTok or Instagram without losing resolution to cropping.

Technical Specifications:

  • Takeoff Weight: 151g (160g with Digital Transceiver)

  • Max Flight Time: 19 mins per battery (~57 mins total in this combo)

  • Max Video Res: 4K/60fps | 4K/100fps (Slow-mo)

  • Internal Storage: 49 GB (No SD card slot)

  • Wind Resistance: Level 5 (10.7 m/s)

  • Gimbal: 2-Axis Mechanical

  • Sensing: Omnidirectional + Forward LiDAR + Downward Infrared

Pilot's Reality Check:

  • No SD Card: With 49GB of internal storage, you don't need a MicroSD card. This is enough for about 100 minutes of 4K/60fps footage, but you'll need to use QuickTransfer (80MB/s) to clear space regularly.

  • The "Transceiver" Step: To use the RC-N3 or Goggles 3, you must clip the small digital transceiver onto the back of the drone. It adds 9g but is essential for any flight beyond 500m.

  • FPV Mode: While primarily a selfie drone, the Neo 2 supports Manual/Acro mode (with the FPV Remote 3) and Easy ACRO (with Motion 3), making it a surprisingly capable indoor cinewhoop.

Flyer's POV: The Neo 2 feels like "cheating." You can pull it out of a jacket pocket, tap a button on the new onboard status screen, and have it follow you through a doorway while you're cycling—all without touching a remote. It is much quieter than the Avata 2, making it the perfect companion for vloggers who want high-quality aerial shots without drawing a crowd.

🤔 FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
  • Can I still fly the Neo 2 if I don't have a phone or a remote controller with me?

That’s the best part! You don't need anything but your hands. Just tap the mode button on the drone to choose your shot, hold it in your palm, and hit the takeoff button. It’ll fly its mission and come right back to land on your hand. If you want more control, the new Gesture Control 2.0 lets you move it around or frame your shot just by waving and moving your palms—it’s like having a floating cameraman who follows your every command.

  • I’m moving up from the original Neo. Will my old batteries work in the Neo 2?

Unfortunately, no. While they look similar, the Neo 2 batteries have a higher capacity (1606 mAh) and a slightly different shape to power those beefier motors and the new obstacle sensing system. You’ll need the Neo 2 specific batteries, but the "Fly More Combo" has you covered with three of them right out of the box.

  • Does the Neo 2 have an SD card slot, or am I stuck with the internal memory?

Just like the first version, there is no SD card slot on the drone itself. However, DJI doubled the internal storage to 49GB, which is enough for about 100 minutes of 4K footage. When you fill it up, you can use the QuickTransfer feature to zip the files to your phone at 80MB/s—it’s fast enough that you can clear space while you’re having a snack between flights.

  • Is the obstacle avoidance actually "smart," or will it still hit branches?

It’s a huge upgrade. The Neo 2 has a full 360° sensing system and forward-facing LiDAR, which is a first for a drone this small. It can dodge walls and trees much more reliably while it's tracking you. Just keep in mind that LiDAR can still struggle with very thin "invisible" objects like power lines or bare winter twigs, so always keep an eye on it when flying in tight spots.

  • I want to try FPV. Do I need to buy a whole new drone?

Not at all! The Neo 2 is fully compatible with the DJI Goggles 3 and Motion 3 (or the FPV Remote 3). In fact, the Neo 2 is even better for FPV than the original because it has a 2-axis mechanical gimbal, which keeps the horizon much steadier and makes the footage look more professional. It’s the perfect "gateway drug" into the world of FPV without the stress of building your own quad.
