The Nebula Pro is the "Goldilocks" kit for the DJI digital system. It pairs the compact Vista VTX with a camera that finally matches the original DJI FPV camera's performance. You get the 120fps low-latency smoothness and a proper 4:3/16:9 switchable sensor, making it the top choice for freestyle pilots who want a high-end image without the bulk of a full Air Unit.

Product Description

Caddx Vista Nebula Pro BNF Copters Version 2S-6S Size 19mm (Camera) Style Digital FPV System

The Caddx Vista Nebula Pro kit was the community's answer to the "washed out" look of the early Nebula cameras. It uses a high-quality 1/3-inch sensor that brings back the clarity, color depth, and high frame rates that DJI pilots expect.

  • 120fps Performance: Unlike the "Nano" or "Polar" versions that are often locked at 60fps, the Pro supports the full 120fps High Frame Rate mode. This is critical for racing and proximity freestyle where every millisecond of latency counts.

  • Switchable Aspect Ratio: You aren't stuck with one view. You can toggle between 4:3 (better for vertical awareness in acro) and 16:9 (cinematic widescreen) directly in your goggle settings.

  • Vista VTX Reliability: The Vista unit (often called the Air Unit Lite) handles the heavy lifting of the digital link. It’s significantly smaller and lighter than the original dual-antenna DJI Air Unit but offers the same 4km range and 700mW output.

  • Pro-Level Optics: The 2.1mm lens provides a wide 150° field of view with much better edge-to-edge sharpness than the budget Nebula sensors. It handles transitions from bright sky to dark shadows without "blowing out" the image.

Technical Specifications:

  • Weight: ~27g (Camera + VTX + Antenna)

  • Input Voltage: 7.4V - 26.4V (2S-6S)

  • Power Output: 25mW / 200mW / 500mW / 700mW

  • Resolution: 720p / 120fps

  • Latency: <28ms (Low Latency Mode)

  • FOV: 150° (D) / 122° (H) / 93° (V)

  • Dimensions: VTX: 30x29x13mm; Camera: 19x19x20mm

  • Mounting Pattern: 20x20mm (VTX)

The Pilot's Reality Check:

  • Heat is Real: Because the Vista is so small, it doesn't have the same heat-sinking as the full-sized Air Unit. If you leave it powered up on the bench for too long without a fan, it will overheat and throttle its power. Always arm and fly quickly once you've plugged in.

  • Antenna Connector: It uses a U.FL connector for the antenna which can be fragile. If you crash hard and the antenna pulls, it can rip the connector off the board. Many pilots use a 3D-printed brace to keep the antenna locked in place.

  • Single Antenna vs. Dual: The Vista only uses one antenna whereas the original Air Unit uses two. In most cases, you won't notice a difference, but in extreme long-range or behind heavy concrete, the full Air Unit still has a slight edge in signal recovery.

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions
  • Why is the Nebula Pro considered the "Gold Standard" for Vista?

Early Nebula cameras (the Nano and Micro) had poor image quality compared to the original DJI camera. The Nebula Pro changed that by offering a 120fps high-frame-rate sensor that is almost indistinguishable from the original DJI camera. It supports a low-latency mode (<28ms) and switchable 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios, making it the top choice for pilots who want pro-level performance in a small package.

  • Does the Vista record video like the full Air Unit?

No, and this is the biggest trade-off. The full-sized DJI Air Unit has an SD card slot that records 1080p footage on the drone itself. The Caddx Vista has no internal recording; you can only record the "DVR" (what you see in your goggles) which is 720p and includes any static or interference you experienced during the flight.

  • Is one antenna enough for long-range flying?

The Air Unit uses two antennas (MIMO) for a more robust signal, while the Vista uses only one antenna. For general freestyle and racing, you won't notice a difference. However, if you are pushing the limits of range or flying in areas with lots of concrete and steel, the Air Unit's dual antennas provide a more stable link and better "penetration."

  • Will the Nebula Pro fit in my frame?

The Nebula Pro is a 19x19mm (Micro size) camera, which fits standard FPV frames perfectly. The original DJI FPV camera is much wider (approx. 21mm) and often requires special TPU mounts or specific frames. Because the Nebula Pro is smaller and lighter, it’s much easier to tilt to high angles for aggressive racing.

  • Which one should I choose for a 5-inch freestyle drone?

If you want the best possible onboard video without carrying a GoPro, get the Air Unit. If you are looking to save weight (the Vista is about 20g lighter) or if you already plan to mount a GoPro on top, the Caddx Vista Nebula Pro is the smarter choice. It’s easier to mount, keeps the drone agile, and costs slightly less.
